Privacy

Last updated 1 October 2026

Nichenaut is a small game made by one person. It keeps only what it needs to run, and nothing is sold or shared.

What we keep

  • A guest profile. Made the first time you play: your name, colour, rank, stats, coins and items. Your device holds a random key to it.
  • Google sign-in, if you use it. Your Google account id, email address and name, so your profile works on any device. Nothing else from Google.
  • Your missions. Your score, place and who you played with, for your rank and the leaderboard. The answers you gave are kept on your profile so you can look back at them. Only you can see them.
  • Mission facts. For every mission: when it was, how many rounds, how long it took, how many played and who won. Nothing about what anyone answered.
  • Missed answers. Answers the game didn't know, with the prompt but no name or room, so the answer lists can get better.
  • Coins, items, cases and badges you've earned or bought with coins.
  • Crew. Your friends list and invites, if you use them.
  • OPEN ORBIT chat. Recent messages stay up for players who join later. The chat log is kept for a week so reports and bans can be checked.
  • Visits. Which pages were opened, the browser and system, screen size, language, the site you came from, and a rough location (country and city). IP addresses aren't stored.

On your device

A sign-in cookie, a cookie holding your guest key, and a few saved settings (sound, your name and colour, solo bests). No advertising or tracking cookies.

What we never do

  • No ads.
  • No selling or sharing your data.
  • No tracking you on other sites.
  • No real money. Coins can only be earned by playing.
  • No game replays. What was said in a mission isn't kept for anyone to read back.

Who sees what

Other players see your name, colour, astronaut, rank and items, and your answers during a mission. Your email is never shown to anyone. The person who runs the game can watch a room while a mission is live, like a spectator, and sees the mission facts above afterwards. They can't read your answers, and they read the chat log only to keep chat safe.

Where it's kept

The website runs on Vercel, the database is Neon (in Frankfurt), and live rooms, chat and game files run on Cloudflare.

Deleting it

Email robberttorfs@gmail.com from the address you signed in with (or send your friend code) and your profile and everything linked to it will be deleted.
